IT Consultant - East Bay

East Bay, CA

If you want to develop your career as an IT professional and you are smart, hard working, and good with people we may have the perfect position for you.  We are a small IT consulting firm with an office in Sacramento looking for an up and coming IT professional who we can develop into our next uber-consultant. 

Your job would be to serve as Tier-1 support for our local small business clients, helping them over the phone and by email with their computer issues.  You would be responsible for handling all desktop support issues for our clients (Windows XP/Vista, MS Office, hardware/software, networking, email, remote access, etc.).  For more complicated issues you will have the support of our senior IT consultants.  When not handling desktop support issues, you will be assisting other team members with on-going IT projects.  This job is primarily a helpdesk/customer service position, but you’ll be exposed to lots of other things such as server administration, firewalls, network design, backup software, and much more.

Unlike your typical IT job where you have to know a lot about a few technologies, this job requires you to know a lot about a great many technologies.  When you’re not learning, your job is to learn, learn, learn.  We work with a wide range of clients with extremely varied IT environments.  That’s what makes the job so perfect for an emerging IT professional; each day brings new challenges and new opportunities for learning.

To succeed in this job role you have to be charming on the phone and good at troubleshooting computer issues.  Most importantly you have to be passionate about technology and motivated to improve your IT knowledge and skills.
